Born in Luxembourg, raised in Northampton, and now firmly rooted in Berkshire, FRANSSENS is a Country/Americana singer-songwriter who stepped into the world of solo acoustic songwriting in 2024, quickly building a reputation around intimate live performances, precise guitar work, rich baritone vocals, and honest storytelling.

Drawing influences from classic Country, Blues, and Bluegrass, FRANSSENS developed his songwriting style around the idea that a great song should be able to captivate a room with nothing more than a voice and an acoustic guitar. That approach led to his upcoming debut EP “I’ll Go First”, a live solo-acoustic record built around vulnerability, warmth, and the feeling of sitting in the room with the artist as the story unfolds. The EP releases July 11th, with debut single “Colder” available now on all streaming platforms.

While “I’ll Go First” captures the intimacy of his solo-acoustic performances, the recent addition of his full band, “Franssens & Friends”, allows the songs to evolve into a more dynamic live experience inspired by the energy and spirit of classic Outlaw Country and modern Alt-Country artists such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Tyler Childers, and Sturgill Simpson.

Whether you catch FRANSSENS solo, with his full band, or joined by occasional special guests, no two performances are ever quite the same. What began as a stripped-back solo acoustic project has steadily evolved into something built around connection and storytelling, with one foot rooted in tradition, and the other kicking for something different.

Having spent the last two years refining his craft through open mics, beer festivals, grassroots venues, and support slots across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and beyond, FRANSSENS is emerging as a distinctive new voice in the UK Americana scene.

Your Shadow Self

Tom portrait full res.jpg

Your Shadow Self started releasing music in 2023, utilising music as a navigational tool to express emotions and unpack his struggles with mental health. With raw and mournful lyricism, his songs depict themes of depression, abuse, loneliness and entrapment. Inspired by other Indie Rock and Folk musicians like Death Cab For Cutie and Hey Nothing, which is reflected in the intricate layering and signature melancholic sound.
